Cyanotype on printed paper

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print

Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints. In the 80's these were replaced by the xerographic copies since they did not require the use of tracing paper. With the arrival of computers cyanotypes have been consigned to the artistic sphere .

Numerous contemporary artists employ the cyanotype process in their art: Christian Marclay, Marco Breuer, Kate Cordsen, Hugh Scott-Douglas and WuChi-Tsung
