In order to learn to draw you have to erase a lot. If you don’t erase you do not learn, or you do…and what do I know!
Uriel was born in Madrid in 1969 and is a doctor in architecture, currently working for the Department of Architectonic Projects in the Superior Technical School of Architecture in Madrid since 2005.He has been a Coordinator in the Area for Architectonic Graphic Expression in the Superior School of Architecture and Technology of Camilo Jose Cela University (UCJC) since 2006. He has also taught drawing for architectonic projects and analysis of architectonic shapes at the ESAyT since 2000He is a founding member of the research projects “Architectonic Interfaces” of the UCJC since 2005 and of the group “Hipermedia” of the ETSAM since 2006. Today he is the director of the group of financed research “regenera”.He has published two small books: Visual and sound explanatory research in 2005 and He, narrative portrait in 2006, as well as his doctoral thesis Erase: spacer action in 2009.
He has also published articles in books including Petreous icons, a proposal by Ricardo Santonja, 2006 and d12_system: a game to be inhabited by J. Miguel Reyes, 2007.
In addition he has been published in various magazines, such as New York Arts Magazine in 2000 and 2001, EGA magazine in 2006 and 2009 and in the number 0 of the magazine Orbis Tertius of the SEK Foundation
He has given three presentations at the two most recent International Conferences of Architectonical Graphic Expression in Seville and Madrid.
His prize-wrring work as author, contributor and artist have been published in catalogues such as: Beyong Hard and Soft in Arquitecture (New York), Utopias for Madrid, Price Thyssen Arquitecture 98, Galery EEG33 season 97-98, ARCO 99, 3º Biennial International Art of Florence, magazines like VHF, Metrópolis, Minerva, El punto de las artes, Arquitectura Interior and newspapers like EL PAIS, and El Diario Montañes from Cantabria.
He combines his activities as teacher and architect with his artistic interests: painting and low-reliefs that have been exhibited around the world in the following galleries:
